Meet Blend 1946 - a signature roast that reflects Rodd & Gunn’s commitment to quality, provenance, and craftsmanship. Roasted in Port Melbourne, this carefully balanced blend brings together the best of two distinct coffee-growing regions to create a cup that’s both refined and approachable.
At its core is a 75% Brazilian bean sourced from Luiz and Flavia Saldanha’s family-run farm in the subtropical hills of Norte Pioneiro do Paraná. Grown at 750 metres, these beans provide a smooth, full-bodied foundation with notes of toasted almond and praline sweetness. Layered on top is 25% Indonesian Gayo Grade 1 coffee from Northern Sumatra, adding a vibrant lift of bright raspberry acidity and a subtle, savoury tobacco finish that lingers long after the last sip.
The result is a versatile, well-rounded coffee designed for everyday ritual - equally at home as a rich espresso or a clean, expressive filter. Blend 1946 is crafted for those who appreciate depth, balance, and a story in every cup.
