Treeline Ridge | Rodd & Gunn

INTRODUCING OUR APRIL DROP

12th April 2021
Enjoy an effortless start to winter with our new Treeline Ridge range.

Our new Treeline Ridge collection is for the discerning man. The man who values no-fuss winter styling. The man who is turning his attention to more important things in life, and doesn’t want to labour over wardrobe decisions. The man who wants a life that is outwardly simple, but inwardly rich.

With a nostalgic nod to old-time fabrics, including brushed wools, rugged corduroy, and houndstooth, Treeline Ridge mixes traditional garments with elevated leisurewear. We’ve dusted off iconic outerwear pieces from our archives: the peacoat, the zip funnel-neck sweater, and wool blouson have all been revisited in modern notes.

The resulting look is casual, comfortable, and assured - perfect for a new world where the line between work and play is becoming increasingly blurred.

Each garment in this range is centred around comfort. As temperatures drop, we naturally gravitate towards softer textures. From premium California-grown cotton to softly brushed moleskin fabrics woven in Italy, we’ve been obsessive in our search for the finest wintery materials.

We’ve opted for calming, natural shades for this collection. Autumn / Winter’s black and grey sit side by side a palette inspired by the colors of the earth: rich walnut, sand beige, rust red, and burnt notes. A word must be said about brown, the color that has known oblivion for a long time and now returns as a distinguished and warming alternative to black.

Monochromatic, however, does not mean monotonous. We’ve incorporated textured wools and patterns to break up tonal looks, for an added sense of freshness.

OUTERWEAR & PREMIUM KNITWEAR

LAYER UP

With comfort as the cornerstone of this collection, we’ve kept every garment wearable for everyday use, without compromising our premium look and feel.

An absolute standout piece of the range, the Barhill jacket, is woven in Italy and features an iconic tweed print in a deep walnut brown - a subtle reference to the ’70s. Partner it with a light oatmeal knit and nutmeg brown jeans to create a textured, tonal look. When it gets colder, a tailored, straight-cut coat is your sartorial safety blanket. Available in rich navy blue, the Horsham Downs overcoat looks evaluated and edgy at the same time. Worn over a cashmere knit and jeans, you’re ready for the weekend; layer on top of a twill-flannel shirt and tailored pants for your next winter social event. Made of a certified Woolmark blend that guarantees quality and longevity, the Horsham Downs will become an old faithful for seasons to come.

Corduroy is luxe and hard-wearing at the same time, and the new Saint Bathans jacket is no exception. This soft-tailored jacket is made of cotton corduroy from the Albini mill in Northern Italy. Its notch lapel offers a neat and timeless appeal, apt for just about any occasion. A menswear classic with a touch of Ivy League style, Saint Bathans is a sophisticated addition to your jacket lineup.

A smarter alternative to a bomber, the Hepburn Creek is a classic blouson jacket crafted from premium merino. With a collegiate cool feel, the Hepburn Creek is an incredibly versatile piece of outerwear in terms of both style and function. Few other garments can walk the line between sportswear and sharp, classy casual.

The perfect anchor point for your winter wardrobe, you simply can’t overlook the Slope Hill knit. The fisherman’s rib transports us back to our outdoor heritage. Its athletic aesthetic and sports-fit makes it all the more appealing for everyday wear. Crafted in a luxurious European spun wool, its chunkiness is guaranteed to provide warmth and comfort.

A LEISURELY AFFAIR

This winter, we’re elevating the humble hoodie with a cashmere-rich yarn for the ultimate in softness and extra-lofty warmth.

A cosy cashmere item is a great layering piece, which is why the Nelson Island hoodie is our pick of the season. Don’t be afraid to mix high and low pieces together with the hoodie. Try it with traditionally tailored garments. As an inner layer piece, it’s a sporty alternative to a waistcoat or cardigan - just be sure to have the fit snug and the hood neatly hung at the back of the neck.

Your must-have shirt of the season is the Renwick check flannel. Featuring a premium Italian milled fabric with melange and alternating colours for a textured look, nothing says cool and casual quite like a flannel shirt. Coloured check flannels can break up the tonal monotony of a monochrome layered look.

The dependable flannel and jeans combo needs no real introduction. It’s inoffensive and practical - suitable for anything from a casual dinner with friends to a weekend brunch. We’d recommend our straight-fit Motion jeans, which are made from a new and improved lightweight fabric. With a unique stretch that provides comfort while on the move, the mid-weight structure is wearable all year round.
