Stylish and comfortable boot
Good quality boot, it is genuine leather and is one of the most versatile boots I own. Can dress it up or down for any event, and is waterproof enough after I applied polish + waterproof spray. Was able to walk in Toronto with them in January with no issues, good enough grip for maneuvering around the slush and snow, and simple wipe after to make them look clean.

Zips not up to standard
After purchase, grease the zip, as it will break.

Great Boots, though they didnt fit my use case.
Great fit for a wider foot, though you will have to break in with thicker socks for a better fit. I purchased the boots in black, they were shiner then I expected out of the box. The wool around the ankle creates a warmer environment inside of the shoe. After I broke them in they were comfortable, though I wouldn't adopt them as my everyday shoe.

A mediocre boot for the price
I've been pretty into boots for years and for the $279 pricetag, you really dont get a whole lot of quality. No goodyear welting, no speed hooks, no full-gusseting, and a zip (seriously?). The perks come with the european-inspired shearling inner that will keep good insulation around the ankles as well as the capped toe. Zips are just terrible for any weatherproofing and longevity as usually they tend to break first and water can wick through to the foot.
This boot will do fine if all you are looking for is a stylish casual boot but WILL NOT live up to the heritage of the "Field Military boot" name.
Overall, steepish price for what you actually get and also consider that when it comes to shoes, it's not Rodd & Gunn's primary offering - meaning that this is likely a poorly made import to fill out the ranks. I love their clothing but just avoid footwear from clothing brands.

Peerless
Finally purchased after much consideration and my only regret is that I didn't buy it sooner. An elegant, hardy wearing boot.
