DRIVERS SEAT EXPERIENCE

A must for all motor enthusiasts, this exhilarating morning at the sensational Highlands Motorsport Park puts you in the driver’s seat. Located just 45 minutes from central Queenstown, this world class venue set amidst the golden ranges of Central Otago, showcases the best of motorsport. Get behind the wheel of a Radical SR3 and experience this exhilarating track. Listen to the sound generated by this highly tuned four-cylinder racing engine as it accelerates down Pisa straight – it’s mind-blowing! The Radical SR3 is a similar design to the Le Mans endurance cars and boasts an aerodynamic bodywork for increased downforce, reduced drag and racing slick tyres for supreme cornering speed. Fitted with a 6 speed paddle shift gearbox, you will experience the ultimate race car feel.

After 7 laps in the Radical, switch to a Supercar for a Fast Dash where you become the passenger and feel the exhilaration of speeds of up to 225 kph as your professional driver takes you on the ride of your life around this international circuit.

Off the track, take time to explore the impressive line-up of display cars featuring Michael Schumacher’s Benetton Formula One car, an Aston Martin Vulcan (the only one in the Southern Hemisphere) and a mix of classic and modern race cars within the Highlands Museum. The Museum is a unique destination, designed to celebrate the impressive achievements of Kiwi drivers who have found success on both the national and international circuits. Browse the interactive gallery and enjoy viewing one - on - one interviews with some of the Young Guns of New Zealand motorsport. Choose one of these champion drivers to take you on a virtual reality lap of the Highlands track and discover their driving secrets.

Your EXPLORE by Rodd & Gunn host will meet you at your accommodation for return transfers to the Highlands Motorsport Park.

To participate in the Radical U Drive you must hold a current drivers licence and be competent in using a manual transmission. Learner’s permits are not acceptable.
