Needs larger zipper
The zipper is too small and it is on the wrong side (USA) for a man's jacket. The zipper looks and feels like it belongs on a women's coat. Plus the zipper on the Winscombe jacket should be reversable in case the male needs to use the latrine.

I lost my previous Winscombe jacket which I wore all the time. I checked the R&G website hoping they were still stocked & fortunately they were. Ordered online and arrived soon after - very happy with my purchase. :-)

Geat Coat
I bought this 6 months ago. Traveled to Europe in the spring with it. its a great travel blazer. I actully wear it a fair bit in town with a button down shirt. it's like a sport coat but casual and gives weather protection.

Great jacket, looks nice, performs very well. A good investment piece.
I was looking for a more dressed up jacket, sort of a grown men kind of thing, to replace the puffer jacket I use in the cold seasons, and I found this one. It fits the bill perfectly:
1) looks great, with a sort of blazer style, yet not formal;
2) the right length, not short, nut not too long either, just right to wear my shirt untucked, as I like them;
3) a tough fabric that resists light rain;
4) a nice fit, slim, but true to size (I am 5'10", @157# and after trying a medium, I settled with the size small);
5) warm and cozy, which I can improve as necessary by layering over different sweaters or by wearing a merino wool base layer;
6) I like that you can use just the snap buttons, or the zipper, or both, though he hardware is not the nicest I have had, but it's good.
7) the stand up collar that can also be folded as a blazer collar. I find it more useful and versatile.
Mine was in Olive, though I see now that color is not available. The navy is nice as well, I tried in person.
The only thing I would change is the flap hand pockets. Those are not really useful to hide your hands if the weather is chilly. It would have been nice if they were patch pockets, or if they had a better angle to allow covering your hands. I would post a few pics, but the website's option to upload images is not working for me right now.
Pricey, but I think I will wear it for a long time, so I see it as an investment. Someone at work told me that I look more dapper, "european". I think it doesn't;t work well with ties, but I think it wasn't meant to be worn like that.
Customer service was great, they handled my orders and returns fast and without issues, and even found me the last olive in size small in their inventory, which wasn't available online.

Perfect jacket
I've been looking for a jacket like this for years. Light, slightly long, nice fabric, and the perfect cut. I've worn it in the rain and kept me dry, though it's not for downpours. It makes for a very effective windbreaker and if you layer even lightly, it's very warm in chilly weather. Everything about it allows you to dress it up or down. The notched collar and the silhouette make for a masculine and sophisticated look. I can wear it with Vans or boots, t-shirt or Oxford, jeans or chinos. I love it.

Fit a little funny
It was a little big in the shoulders, and arms too long for the fit. I’m just not the right build I guess. It seems to be confused between a jacket and blazer and I couldn’t figure out how to wear it. Just not my style I guess

No communication from the store
Ordered a size small and received a medium. Sent out an email requesting information on when the size small would be available and not a single response for weeks (and still not reponse). Returned the size I received and its been almost two weeks since the jacket arrived back at the facility with no update on my return status nor any refund on my credit card. The lack of communication is truly disappointing by a brand that makes great pieces. The jacket would have been perfect if it fit me.

Great coat. Saw some reviews regarding concerns on the fit being too small so debated ordering a size up. Glad I didn’t. I’m a size M in all my R&G apparel and this coat is exactly right. Love the material and it’s perfect for travel.

Tight in the shoulders and chest.
I'm 5'10, and slim but with broad shoulders. Despite lusting after this jacket for quite some time, I ultimately had to return it because it was far too tight in the shoulders and chest. To be fair, because of my body shape I run into this problem with most brands and have trouble finding jackets that fit well in the shoulders without having way too much room around my stomach.
For the Winscombe, I bought XS. Had I sized up, the shoulders might have worked, but the jacket would have been far too long and loose near the waist.
Beautiful jacket, but as others have said, not well sutied to guys with broader shoulders or bigger arms.

Great jacket
I really liked the Winscombe jacket and was looking everywhere for it - it was a last jacket in my size available and I got it by pure luck. I find that it runs small. I usually wear Large and it was too tight for me, couldn't wear it over anything but a t-shirt. So I went a size up and it was a good fit. It's very comfortable and stylish.

Exceptional Jacket
Bought this at Gunn store in London. Salesman recommended it and told me this jacket is their best seller and sells out quickly. They had only one left in blue color. As soon as I tried it, it fit like a glove. Exceptional jacket, three season wear.

Perfect jacket for travelling
Great weight and perfect for travelling. Sizing is a little generous so I returned and ordered a size down which still lets me wear several layers underneath without feeling like the Michelin Man.
Does a good job of blocking wind but even with the padded lining is not overly warm.
