With The Lodge Bar & Dining Auckland, Rodd & Gunn marks another milestone in our efforts to elevate retail design to its finest form yet.

For years, Rodd & Gunn has proudly pioneered the art of experiential, luxury retail design throughout the antipodes. From our original experiential retail concept, The Lodge Bar Queenstown, to our immersive stores around the world, we’re consistently pushing the boundaries of retail design. Any Gunn Guy knows that a visit to The Lodge Bar is a delight for all senses and unlike any other retail experience.

In mid June, we’re bringing our characteristic approach to the North Island with the launch of The Lodge Bar & Dining Auckland. Set to become a world-class destination for Auckland’s dining, bar, and retail scenes, The Lodge Bar & Dining will offer an opportunity to engage with Rodd & Gunn like never before. Designed in partnership with local architects Pennant and Triumph, The Lodge Bar & Dining takes pride of place in Auckland’s picturesque Commercial Bay. On arrival, visitors enter the space through double doors in the facade. Inside, a warm material palette of dark and natural timber, leather, and polished brass evokes the signature Rodd & Gunn blend of rusticness and sophistication.

“The concept goes beyond experimental retail,” says Rodd & Gunn CEO, Mike Beagley, “It celebrates the New Zealand lifestyle that is ingrained in our brand DNA. We want to deliver an authentic and memorable experience, not just through our stores and Lodge Bars but through every touch point.”

This focus on authenticity and memorability is evident throughout the space, which puts the user experience first. Throughout The Lodge Bar & Dining, different spaces transition seamlessly into one another and allow visitors to move fluidly. Order a drink one moment, browse Rodd & Gunn’s latest collection the next, then sit back with a delicious meal and enjoy stunning harbourside views after that - inside the concept store, anything is possible.




The Lodge Bar & Dining Auckland will officially open on 11 June 2020, with an impressive lineup of New Zealand’s finest culinary figures. Michelin-starred Kiwi chef Matt Lambert, who also designed the menu for The Lodge Bar Queenstown, returns with a new menu that is sure to inspire and delight. Filled with locally sourced produce, Lambert’s menu will be lovingly brought to life by Head Chef Logan Clarke of Bracu fame.

To compliment the gourmet food offering, Rodd & Gunn has recruited Cameron Douglas, New Zealand’s only Master Sommelier, to carefully curate a cellar of international and New Zealand pours. After exploring the nearly 400m2 space and discovering the latest Rodd & Gunn apparel, accessories, and footwear, visitors can top the day off with a glass of red or white or a cocktail of their choice. It’s world-class luxury retail and dining, done in a uniquely Rodd & Gunn way.
